Hello Andrew.I would assume the green color storm tracks are Alberta clippers. The one track with the track south of ohio i would say would bring a general 1"-3" of snow to my area.Do you agree with that? Also the track north of ohio.would bring some snow to my area i would imagine. Now getting to the HEAVY hitters.I'm talking about the storm tracks in the southern plains. The one that tracks through Texas over to Florida then hooks up the coast usually produces little to no snow in my area, unless it is extremely strong and bombs out like crazy. Now getting to my favorite track.I'm talking about the one that drops in the Texas Oklahoma panhandles then it travels through southern Kansas,Missouri, then from there it goes through Kentucky,West Virginia, and through Pennsylvania.I would say this track brings some pretty heavy snowfall to my area if the gulf of mexico gets involved. In the years past,i got several heavy snows from this certain track.I myself would consider this the classic "PANHANDLE HOOK." Sorry for the long post Andrew,i just like to talk about winter weather situations.
Mike: If storms track south of Ohio, and you live in Ohio, you would be getting a lot more than 1-3 inches. Keep in mind that when these storms happen, they will HAPPEN. On the order of 6''+ sometimes. Additionally, yes, the Panhandle Hooker storms, depending on the ultimate Coastal Track or Midwest Track, will affect you in a big way.
