In the next week, most of the 48 states will begin to feel the effects of an expected warm-up. Temperatures will finally reach above freezing in Chicago and many other regions that have not seen above freezing levels in over a month.A concern with this warm up is the melting snowpack. Ice jams in rivers and streams will become common and dangerous.
