2011 Blizzard O'Hare Snowfall

20 inches of snow was the final and official tally for the 2011 Blizzard.

Objectives for Update 2

While update 2 will be a successor to many minor fix updates, there are things that The Weather Centre will be working to improve up to Update 2 for The Weather Centre.

-Developing a specialized in-house forecast system.

-Redesigning the Current Weather Page.

-Adjusting poll answers to posts.

-Working to enhance graphics.

-Redesigning, Enhancing the Snow Day Formula.

Weather Explained: Snowdrift

What is a snowdrift?

When snow is falling and wind is blowing, the wind blows the snow against a wall or solid object. A snowdrift looks like a big hill. In the Blizzard of 2011, snowdrifts were as high as 5 feet and over.

Are snowdrifts dangerous?

Snowdrifts can bury cars, stop people from being able to open front doors, and be hazardous in general.
