Severe Weather Watch (May 14- Virginia Coast)

A Severe Weather Watch has been issued by The Weather Centre for the East Virginia region.

At 9:06pm EDT... Radar indicated strong storms were moving east offshore.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was also issued by the SPC for these storms.

Threats include:
-Damaging Winds
-Hail

This will expire at 10:15 pm EDT.

Tonight's Chance of Thunderstorms- May 14, 2011

Hail Watch (May 14- Southeast Georgia)

A HAIL WATCH is now in effect for Southeast Georgia.

At 6:00 pm EDT... VIL detected a high possibility of hail occurring in this region. Radar also indicates strong storms are in the area.

Hail up to 1 inch is possible as these storms move through.

This watch is effective until about 7:30PM EDT.

Morganza Spillway to be opened shortly

The Morganza, LA spillway will be opened in about 20 minutes, at 4pm EDT/3pm CDT.
Everyone potentially affected by this opening should be out of the area now.

May 14 Severe Weather: Slight Risk cut back

The slight risk has been cut from the Ohio Valley.
This was expected, as there was too much morning cloud cover, and the clouds that did break were already developing into updrafts. It was too early for updrafts to occur.
However, the slight risk is still on for the Southeast and Northwest.
