Around this timeframe, moist air will finally shift into the Gulf of Mexico, as the Gulf has been pretty dry recently. Additionally, the jet stream should lift north, leaving out shearing and opening the door fairly wide for tropical activity. Upper level winds will not totally die off, and little blips of winds may provoke something of interest in the region should small systems come around the bend.

Watch where the HI sets up over the south. Usually tropical systems tend to form due south of these HI's. Joe blogged this and shown his pt had validity

Now, as for the issue that I am supposedly wrong, warm air and light upper level winds are needed for tropical activity, which we will have in this timeframe. Hurricanes can form anytime, but are most common between June and November. I can assure you of that, Anonymous.
