Mid January Arctic Blast?

Gary Lezak, the man who discovered the LRC, is indicating that an arctic blast of cold air is possible come mid January. We are investigating this, but at this time his confidence level seems fairly high. We are working to see if this may coincide with a possible break in the weather pattern.

What are you current indications about this springs severe weather in the great lakes?I don't know if you can answer that it just flashed through my mind so I went to my computer because I knew that you would respond with an answer in a reasonable amount of time.

If the Great Lakes ends up with a cooler than normal spring, the warm Gulf could help ignite some severe storms that may be slightly more severe than the 'average' severe storm (lightning, small hail, heavy rain, gusty winds).

This is only for an arctic blast of cold air, so we cannot say right now.
