See here for the original post on the east coast snowstorm.
We will be doing an update probably tomorrow on how the ECMWF may have shifted too far east with this snowstorm- and there is some hard evidence to prove it. Stay tuned!

This is Reid from Bethel, CT. The Weather Channel map room is indicating that from Jan 2-3rd, there is a possibility for snow down the whole east coast. Is this what you are talking about? My local forecast is also saying snow on Jan 2-4th from TWC and Accuweather. Please fill me in! Thanks Andrew!
Hello Andrew. So your saying in this post that the ECMWF may be shifting this storm more to the west than to the east?Is this what your going to explain tomorrow?
Reid: I'm surprised that they're jumping on the bandwagon. I wouldn't issue a forecast that far out, especially with such a strong storm with so many indices in play. I would go into a 'wait and see' stage, and see how it plays out.
Mike: Well, these models siding with the ECMWF are interesting, but some indices are indicating that a shift west may be more favorable than an East Coast storm. It's an interesting storm. Very interesting.
Hello Andrew.Just a wild guess.Could this POSSIBLY track along the appalachian mountains?
Mike: It is very possible. As I told Reid, this is a wait and see stage.
the gfs 18 shows a low on the 3rd way out too sea this is a good sign cause we know the gfs will trend back west but theres no sign of a too far east track ? plus the gfs is showing a nother simliar storm on the 6th of jan hmm interesting huh.
Anonymous: That is indeed very interesting.
Hey Andrew.Check out the instantweathermaps website.Go to hour 348.There is a TON of snow predicted. This may be overdoing it,who knows. Is there a storm that's supposed to form or something?Sorry i'm getting excited!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! That is HUGE! Thank you for commenting this- we just put up a post on it, thanks to you telling us!
Hi Andrew.Your quite welcome. It even shows 12"-14" snowfalls west towards Ohio. This looks crazy, doesn't it.
Hello Andrew. The gfs is not showing the CRAZY snowfall like it was,in fact hardly anything.Do you think that there still could be a possible MAJOR storm in that time frame?
I'm not surprised it isn't showing a ton of snowfall. 4 feet of snow is probably once in every 100 years- possibly more.
