As you head to bed forecast

Good evening, I am Meteorologist Racki here with your 'As you head to bed Forecast'. In the East, the entire Eastern seaboard is nice and dry for a nice night. In the Southeast USA, a small storm is dissipating in central Florida, but all other areas in the region are dry. In the Midwest, some strong storms are moving through Michigan and South Indiana, but all else appears dry. In The Central West area, A large and possibly severe storm system is impacting the area, from Utah to Kansas and Nebraska. On the West Coast, some showers continue to lose steam. The actual coast is nice and dry. Have a good night, folks.

Special Weather Watch (South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming)

A Special Weather Watch has been issued for the following states:
-South Dakota
-Nebraska
-Kansas
-Colorado
-Wyoming

At 9:42pm CDT, radar indicated showers and thunderstorms, some strong and severe, were being produced in area or areas in these states.

People in the following areas should be prepared to seek shelter:
-Colorado
-South Dakota
-North Central Kansas

People in the following areas should prepare for flash flooding:
-North Central Kansas

People in the following areas should prepare for severe storms:
-North Central Kansas
-Colorado
-South Dakota
-West Nebraska

All people in all states that have been mentioned in this statement should move to secure any outdoor objects and move pets indoors.

The following is an incorporation from the North Central Nebraska Special Weather Warning:

A training thunderstorm, possibly severe, continues to train in one specific area, likely producing or imminent to produce flash flooding.
The Special Weather Warning, now incorporated into this Special Weather Watch, however, remains in effect until its respective time.

The following is the states and times of expiration.
(ALL TIMES ARE CDT)

South Dakota: 11:30pm CDT
Nebraska: 10:50pm CDT
Kansas (North Central area): potentially 12:00am CDT Saturday, June 11, 2010.
Colorado: 10:30pm CDT
Wyoming: 11:00pm CDT

No matter the times of expiration, all people in these areas should be on the watch and look-out for any severe storms that may fire unexpectedly in the warm and unstable atmosphere.

Special Weather Warning (North central Kansas)

A Special Weather Warning has been issued for North Central Kansas.

At 9:38pm CDT, a strong training thunderstorm was in place in the north Central Kansas area.

People in this area are advised to prepare for flash flooding.

This warning will expire at an unknown time due to the nature of its training.
However, daytime heating is beginning to be lost due to transition to nighttime.

3:30pm CDT Special Weather Advisory Update #4

This is Update #4 to the 3:30pm CDT Special Weather Advisory.

At 9:36pm CDT, strong thunderstorms in south Indiana were dissipating.
Thus, this advisory has been cancelled, if not already expired.

Special Weather Advisory (Michigan)

A Special Weather Advisory is now in effect in the folloowing area:
-Extreme North Michigan.

At 8:14pm CDT, radar indicated strong storms were developing and moving east through the extreme north 'mitten' of Michigan.

People in that area are advised to secure outdoor objects.

This Advisory will expire at 9:30pm CDT.

Special Weather Warning (Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska)



A Special Weather Warning is now in effect for the following areas:
-Colorado
-Northwest Nebraska
-Southcentral Nebraska
-Northwest Kansas

At 8:06pm CDT, radar was indicating strong to severe storms were rapidly developing in the above listed areas.
The most significant storms were located in the following area:
-Colorado

All of these storms were moving northeast somewhat slowly.

People in the following areas are advised to secure outdoor objects and turn on either the radio or a local TV station.
The following areas are advised to do the above:
-Kansas
-Nebraska

People in the following area are advised to prepare to seek immediate shelter, turn on radio or local TV station, secure outdoor objects, and prepare for intense storms.
The following areas are advised to do the above:
-Colorado

These storms may initiate a Special Weather bulletin in the following areas now into tonight:
-South Dakota

This warning is projeted to expire in the following areas at the following times:

Nebraska: 9:15pm CDT
Kansas: 9:00pm CDT

3:30pm CDT Special Weather Advisory Update #3

This is the 3:30pm CDT Special Weather Advisory Update #3.

The following areas are being updated:
-Indiana
-Ohio
-Kentucky

At 7:19pm CDT, stong thunderstorms had dissipated over the following areas:
-Ohio
-Kentucky

These storms dissipated as forecast. Thus, their areas of Special Weather Advisory expired at their designated times, and no advisory is being re-issued in those areas.

The following area is being specially updated:
-South Indiana

At 7:19pm CDT, strong thunderstorms were occuring in South Indiana. These storms were moving northeast relatively slowly. Thus, the 3:30pm CDT Special Weather Advisory is being re-issued over the Southern Indiana area until 8:30pm CDT.

People in the newly issued Special Weather Advisory are advised to secure outdoor objects.

Special Weather Advisory (South-central-east Georgia)



Special Weather Advisory has been issued for South-Central-East Georgia.

At 5:11pm CDT, strong and training storms were occuring in that area.
This advisory will continue until an unknown time due to its nature of the training storms.

Training storms are storms that do not move and simply stay in the same place, continuously raining/storming.

People in the listed area are advised to prepare for flooding.

At 4:56pm CDT, radar indicated potentially strong thunderstorms may be developing in the above areas.
