Weather Explained: Graupel

Graupel is a snowflake that is laden with supercooled water droplets.
It falls to the ground as white ball-shaped precipitation.

You can see how the snowflakes are full of little balls of what look like snow as well.

huh, that is actually pretty neat. I have probably seen graupel, but not known it :)
