Much Above Normal Temperatures Continue Today

The Eastern Half of the US will remain in much above normal temperatures for a second day today, with these unseasonable temperatures soon to end with a cold front out to the west.
Today, gusty winds will continue to bring in temperatures as high as 70 in the lower Great Lakes, and even 80's possible in the Sunbelt region.
With these temperatures so high, everyone is asking 'How much above normal are we for this time of year?'

Here's the temperature departure forecast for today. Using the attached scale, we can see that the Northeast will be, by far, the most above average today, with temperature anomalies exceeding 30 degrees above average near the Great Lakes in New York.
