Submit Cities for Personal Winter Forecasts Here

I am bringing back the personalized winter forecasts for this winter.

Here's how it works:

If you want to get a personalized winter forecast for your town, or a town of your choice, comment that location in this post, in the comments section below. Later in the fall, when all of the locations have been submitted, I will compile them and create the winter forecasts, complete with projections of temperature, precipitation, snow, and more.

Hi Andrew, I have been following your blog since Superstorm Sandy. I live in Sea Bright NJ. We got shellacked in the storm and many have yet to return to their homes. I am lucky that I am back with full services restored in March 2014. Can you please include us? I know were small, but I have learned so much from your blog I'd like to read your thoughts. Thanks for the consideration.

A wonderful wonderful blog. I only wish that this blog had been available when I was young. I might have become a meteorologist instead of an English teacher.

Great blog! I started reading this last winter to better understand what I was facing as I attempted to make this the first year that I would commute by bike the entire time. Alas, the Polar Vortex put an abrupt end to those plans as did record snows. I'd like to see what is in store this winter for,

Andrew great job bringing some real perspective to weather forcasting.
You prove that their is more to weather reporting than the three minutes provided on the six and eleven p.m. local news casts. I've learned so much about weather since I started reading your blog. Thank you.

I'm a reader from Edinburgh, Scotland.

I know you don't cover Europe in particular, but because your posts help me understand meteorology and because some things apply to the whole northern hemisphere, I still find it fascinating.

If you were to mention anything briefly about the outlook for the British isles or Europe, that would be great!

Thanks for a great read :-)

Love your website! Helps me with forecasting demand for our product since it is so seasonal and directly affected by weather.

Hi Andrew
Thanks for the useful info and educating folks about when and why you see potential for weather to happen. If you can forecast the mountain snowfall around Idaho or basins that drain into Idaho be would be helpful as this is our source of water.

Forecasting spring precipitation next season would also help as spring moisture can provide much more runoff when the snow is melting.

Some other questions I had from other posts... where does the heat come from to produce warmer El Nino waters? Seems like the PDO just switched to cool phase, what causes this switch?

Who knew I'd have to step up for the whole city of
Columbus, Ohio - Thank you very much.
I look forward to your insightful forecast daily. When friends mention up coming weather I like saying I knew that was coming 2 weeks ago because I read the Weather Centre Blog Spot. Wonderful, Thanks!

Andrew,

When you give the forecasts for the cities, can you list the expected lowest temperature of the winter. That way us gardeners will have an idea of what kind of USDA zone this winter will be like. We may have to protect our plants.

Two cities I'm interested in are Mobile, AL and Charleston, SC.

Thanks.
