Unreliable JMA Crushes Michigan With 2+ FEET Of Snow

JMA at Hour 96
The unreliable JMA weather model is forecasting Michigan to be demolished with over 2 feet of snow 96 hours away from today. Everything above the pink line is snow. As you can see, this JMA model is ridiculously strong and beyond any chance it will verify. It is, however, fun to look at.

Hello Andrew. Are you serious about Michigan getting 2t feet of snow?Is the JMA model very accurate or not?If it is accurate,do you think we could pull this over Ohio,JUST KIDDING!!!! Take care.

The JMA is regarded as a very inaccurate model, but believe me, I really wished that that would pan out.

Andrew, wouldn't the snow to water ratios be much lower than ten to one in this case? I mean, the core of precipitation is very near the 540 line. The rain/snow pine is between the 540 and 534. Thus, the precipitation should be either a rain/snow mix or a very we snow, with low snow to water ratios. Just a thought. You probably know better than me anyway. Thanks! (By the way, I do realize that this is unlikely to happen. :) unreliable model)

The snow ratios might be lower than 10-1, depending on surface temperatures. The rain/snow line is typically just the 540 line, but can be more/less depending on other atmospheric conditions. With the position of the 540 line, I would think that the snow ratios would be very close to 10-1, but again, it depends on surface temperatures.
