Hello Andrew.I'M THE HOLMESVILLE OHIO TOWN.I'M LIKING YOUR FORECAST FOR HOLMESVILLE,OHIO!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO THIS SHOULD OCCUR IN JANUARY THRU MARCH CORRECT? I'M VERY,VERY,VERY,OVERJOYED TO READ THIS.I ALMOST JUMPED OUT OF MY PC DESK CHAIR.SORRY FOR ALL THE EXCITEMENT.I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THE SNOW.ROUGHLY WHAR WOULD HOLMESVILLE OHIO'S SEASONAL SNOWFALL TOTAL BE?I'M GUESSING ROUHLY 30-40 INCHES.WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?THANKS.I FORGOT TO ASK,ARE THESE STORMS GOING TO BE COMING OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST?

Anonymous: You're welcome.

Mike: This would indeed occur in Jan-Mar. I read this morning (a minute ago, in fact) that Mother Nature typically 'evens itself out', so to say. I do believe that is true, and the Arctic can only hold so much cold air...
Also yes, the Southwest appears to be the hotspot for storms this winter.

Hello Andrew.I would wildly guess that the storms would produce very heavy wet snow.In another words, power line busting snow. What do you think?

So will the nao turn negative at all this winter

Andrew said...

Mike: It is entirely possible, especially with the abundance of warm air and lack of cold air.

Anonymous: A positive NAO can only hold so long.

Will the snow stick in Detroit once it falls and stay or will it just all melt within a day THANK YOU ANDREW for doing all this hard work And also our average snow is 43 inches and you think Detroit will get more than that

Andrew said...

Eddie: It really depends on surface temperatures and some atmospheric temperatures to see if the snow falls and sticks or melts. Detroit, looking at it from this standpoint, might have a below average winter. However, several big snowstorms could change that...
Thank you for the kind words.

Hello Andrew. It's raining like cats & dogs right now.The ground is very saturared.I'm guessing i'm closing in on about an inch of rain today.

Hello Andrew. This goes with my last comment. Is this one of the reasons your predicting Holmesville Ohio to get hit pretty hard when the pattern change occurs?Due to the continous rainfall.

Andrew said...

Eddie: Your local Meteorologist is correct. Detroit will get snow and cold this winter.

Mike: This is exactly why we are predicting your area to get hit very hard, yes. Ohio is in a PERFECT storm track, but there's just no cold air. It pains me to see all that precipitation go to waste.
